Advantages for EduNet Members

The EduNet membership offers many advantages for the participating universities:

Technical Equipment

At the beginning of the membership, every new laboratory receives the technical basic equipment for the EduNet laboratory to be established.

Phoenix Contact supports the university with the free provision of 6 work stations ILC 130 ETH and, until the end of 2009, with one S-MAX free of charge.

The regular update of the laboratory technology is promoted by Phoenix Contact with special offers for EduNet members or in exchange for collected EduNet bonus points.

Laboratory Concept

The university will be provided with a corresponding EduNet laboratory sign at the opening of the EduNet laboratory.

Furthermore, the participating universities will be supplied with free technically oriented posters on current automation technology topics for the use in the laboratory.

Curricula

Phoenix Contact has developed and coordinated the contents of a curriculum together with the university partners, to ensure that comparable automation technology topics and the respective level are conveyed.

This curriculum reflects the requirements of both the university and the industry. The multilingual documents are divided into lecture and presentation documents for professors/lecturers and practical exercises, which can be carried out by the students on the basis of the agreed hardware and software.

Seminars

To incorporate and convey new trends and technologies as soon as possible, seminars and trainings, which also include the experience of the university partners, will be held continuously for EduNet members.

The participation fee as well as board and lodging during a seminar at the Training Center in Bad Pyrmont or at another location will be borne by Phoenix Contact.

Besides the professional exchange of opinions, these trainings also offer the opportunity to make personal contacts, which support and strengthen the informal network.

Annual Conferences

The annual conferences offer a platform for a professional exchange about technological innovations and trends. Information on references to lectures will be coordinated and contacts to representatives of international universities can be maintained.

The exchange of information on teaching methods and the willingness for trustful cooperation significantly depend on the personal relationship between the participants. This shall be promoted within the EduNet initiative.

Objectives

All of these activities contribute to the achievement of the EduNet Objectives:

  • Teaching according to the state-of-the-art
  • Practically relevant automation laboratories and curricula
  • Seminars, trainings, conferences
  • Mutual Research & Development
  • Exchange of professors and students
