Sino-German University of Applied Sciences Tongji, China

The Tongji University was founded in 1907, and it is one of the leading universities in China now. By the middle of 2007, there are about 60,000 students of both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the university. And there are 6,800 personnel, including 1,900 professors, in the university.



General Information


The Sino-German University of Applied Sciences (Die Chinesisch-Deutsche Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften, CDHAW) is an educational model project of the Chinese Ministry of Education (MoE) and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), accomplished by the Tongji University and a consortium of German Universities of Applied Sciences.




The CDHAW stresses predominantly an engineer-scientific study, whereby a special emphasis is set on the interdisciplinarity and the obtainance of a basic knowledge of applied economics.

Three four-year study courses with a Bachelor Degree are being offered in the initial phase: Mechatronics, Automobile Technologies and Building Services Engineering & Management.
