Polytechnical Institution Budapest

Budapest Tech is the largest technical college in Hungary with five faculties and sixteen specialities, more than 12 000 students. It lies on more than 45.000 square metres, in Budapest and in Székesfehérvár, and continues its instructional and research activities as the biggest Polytechnic of Hungary.

General Information

There are more than 10.000 students on its five branches
  • Bánki Donát Faculty of Mechanical Engineering,
  • Kandó Kálmán Faculty of Electrical Engineering,
  • Keleti Károly Faculty of Economics,
  • John von Neumann Faculty of Informatics and
  • Rejtő Sándor Faculty of Light Industry.

The Professors and scientists work in fundamental and applied research and also offer their services to companies. The teaching activities therefore benefit from discoveries made in research laboratories and from collaborations with industry.

Every year we organise Scientific Student Circle  (TDK) for our students, where they can show their research activities and publications. Foreign students are especially welcome at Budapest Polytechnic. Lecturers and students quickly help them get used to their new environment.

Kandó Kálmán Faculty of Electrical Engineering has 6 different departments. In the Instrumentation and Automation department the Computer Aided Process Automation module is one of the founding members of EduNet, educating about 25-30 students each year specially to the process automation field.
