Surge Protection
Please select:
Measuring and control technology conductors are considerably more sensitive to surge voltages than those of the power supply systems. As the central nervous systems of industrial plants, they require a high degree of availability. Arresters with combined protective circuits are therefore used for their protection. These are installed directly before the signal inputs to be protected. This avoids the risk of surge voltage coupling along the conductor route between arrester and interface. The connection system and the required space must fit the installation environment. This is why the surge arresters for MCR technology are available for a variety of connection systems.

PLUGTRAB - with pluggable arrestor
- An enormous advantage is the universal pluggability of the PLUGTRAB PT product family
- With PLUGTRAB PT, you can choose between direct and indirect ground connection of the shield potential
- Especially for the field of MCR technology, PLUGTRAB PT/FM offers a surge protection device, which can monitor itself and report the status.
- Arresters for analog and digital measurement signals (floating)
- Arrestors for Ex(i) interfaces
- Arresters for binary signals

LINETRAB - 6,2 mm arrestor
- Time saved and safety ensured thanks to the surge-current-resistant PE snap-on foot. You can connect the protective circuit to the local equipotential bonding during installation as well
- Fix wired as the protection modules can be wired to INTERFACE isolation amplifiers and all commonly used controllers in a time-saving and "pin-accurate" manner
- For intrinsically safe applications Ex i in explosive atmospheres (except LIT 2x1, LIT 4x1).

SURGETRAB Ex - protection suitable for measuring sensors in the field
This new product range offers you surge protection for standard signals in the screw-on module for measuring heads. Here, Plug and Play means: just screw it in, connect and ready!
The protective circuit of SURGETRAB is very secure. With a sturdy housing made of V4A high-grade steel, SURGETRAB can also be used on the measuring head in harsh industrial environments.
Typical areas of application include Profibus PA and Foundation Fieldbus applications, as well as 0(4)-20 mA current loops and similar standard signals.
