PHOENIX CONTACT | Customer magazine UPDATE 3/2012

In machine and system engineering, devices should become increasingly smaller while offering consistently high-performance.This means that the need for plug-in connectors with more compact dimensions is also on the increase. For such device production and field cabling requirements, Phoenix Contact offers appropriate plug-in connectors for signals, data or power supply. Increasingly more complex and smaller systems are increasing the need for compact plug-in connectors which offer more than the classic M12. Depending on the application, it may be necessary to transmit power, data or both via one plug-in connection in order to save slots and space. M12 plug-in connections facilitating the consistent transmission of signals, data, and power are now also available. New M12 plug-in connectors from Phoenix Contact with up to 12 A and 630 V complete the M12 power supply portfolio. Two different keyings were developed for this purposes in order to offer a pin assignment that protects against mismatching for both DC (T keying) and AC (S keying) applications. These plug-in connectors are used to supply power to electric drives and controllers in confined spaces. The compact all-rounder Phoenix Contact also offers the right plug- in connectors for signal, data, and power transmission for meeting the requirements of device developers. Its product portfolio ranges from small to large connectors with the widest variety of connection technology and interlocking systems for connection to the PCB. Despite the reduction in size and ease of handling, the corresponding degrees of IP protection continue to be fulfilled, as otherwise approval of the whole device would be at risk. New material and technology requirements are also repeatedly emerging. Regardless of whether or not electromagnetic compatibility, UV resistance or resilience against, for example, chemicals, heat, flying sparks or mechanical strain is involved - Phoenix Contact offers the perfect connection.
